Can m pet rats use dryer lint for nesting?

i have 2 pet rats can they use dryer lint to make nest? Can m pet rats use dryer lint for nesting?
Too dusty %26amp; there would be residue from fabric softener in the lint. It seems like there should be *some* use for all that dryer lint though. Can m pet rats use dryer lint for nesting?
I would say no.

1) rats can easily inhale all the small particles that make up the lint.

2) the lint would easily be torn apart and shredded into very dangerous, hard to clean pieces.

3) almost all rats LOVE to chew their bedding. They could actually swallow that stuff

4) do you really want to sleep on whatever is inside pockets and stuff?

5) if you use laundry detergent and/or dryer sheets, the scents will hurt the rats nose, causing sneezing and upper respirory failure.

If you want, you could throw old fabric in the cage for bedding, or do what I did, and litter train your rat, that way they can have felt material every where they go! * note- if you do use material, you will have to either use hypoallergenic non-scented laundry detergent, or hand wash them with hypoallergenic non-scented soap.

Lint is a good idea for bedding, soft and cuddly, but I think there are to many set backs to actually use it.
Get some paper towls and cut into very tiny pieces, also I found that the more absorbent ones work better, like bounty etc as they don't get soggy and stink quickly. Don't ever use cloth or anything that could shred and strangle your rat on accident or get tangled around their legs. Also anything that has dust or that would be poisonous if ingested should never be used. Newspaper ink can be harmful. I would advise against it.
I can't say for sure but I know rats are quite susceptible to respiratory illness. Small particles from the lint may very well be inhaled, I would advise against it.
No. Respiratory problems can occur. If you want to give them things to nest with , give them toilet paper , paper towels , or fleece.
absolutely not.

make a mixture of paper towels,

shredded paper, and their bedding.

rats love it!
As long as you don't use fabric softener, it's fine.

I let my rats use it all the time.
to dusty it could get in there lungs. i would say no
go for it
