Do different genders of rats have different personalities?

Well, there are two answers to this: It can depend on the rat, or it can depend on the gender. I have two male rats and they have really opposite personalities. One is very calm and the other is hyperactive. But generally I find that the males are more easy going and the females want to explore everything.Do different genders of rats have different personalities?
female rats tend to be nicer while the males are more territorial. i would suggest checking the animal out before buying it anyway... as you should with any animal. i believe that you can't go in somewhere and buy an animal because you think its cute. many pet stores and breeders keep sick animals because there really aren't any rules saying how you have to run a pet store. so please buy one after you go in and check it out on some different days. some days it might be crabby :D

best of luck in welcoming a new pet into your home!Do different genders of rats have different personalities?
Generally, but you do have some females that 'act male' or males that 'act female'.

Females are usually smaller and more active. They're curious, and don't like sitting in one spot long before running off to check something new out. Males are much more docile when they get older and will like to cuddle or relax more. Males can have more problems with dominance fighting after they're about 6 months, where girls usually get along better. (Though, I have some girls that need to be in charge, and a cage of males who don't really bother themselves with who's the leader. :P)
it depends on the rat, it is said that male rats are more friendly and like to be handled more but it depends on the rats peronality.
i thinkk it is the rat its self that have different personallitys

im not too sure about rats but i think the boy rat is the most calmerr.x
it depends on the rat and how u treat it
