Why do my rats pee and poop on ANYTHING in their sight?10 points?

everything gets gross and smelly and i hate having to throw most of their stuff away and buy a new one cause they pee all over it grosss!!!!!!!!!!





so how do i get them to stop peeing and pooping on everything?

You can not stop them from peeing and pooing on their things, but why do you have to throw everything away? My rats pee on everything and make it stink, but every time I clean their cage I clean every single item in the cage. Hammocks, tunnels, and any cloth in their cage is thrown into the washing machine. Bowls, bottles, toys, wheels, and anything that is solid and can't be ruined with water gets thrown into the sink for a good washing. You don't have to keep throwing things away. Are they males or females? If they are males it is probably because they are scent marking. You cant train them to stop. It is just in their nature. You dont have to throw all of their stuff away. Just clean it off. Its easy! My rats are trained to use a litter box. Although my male rats constantly leave a small trail of pee. Try getting them a box only for using the bathroom in and it should help. I hardly had to do anything to get them to use it. Just try it and it should help. NO GARANTEES! Every rat is different. :)
there is no training them. rodents are known for the incontinence. Sorry but that is the nature of the rodent.
they eat and drink alot theres like no way to train them ans they got to get it out somhow sorry but they do that alot
