I bought two rats a male and female. The female is constantly hurting the male and i think he is ill. he is bleeding from the nose and snezzes alot. she attacks his personal area and chases him. Moat of the time they do nothing but sit in seperate corners. but when theyre not she fights with him what is wrong?My rats that i have were healthy when i got them!?
Your male needs a vet, it sounds as if he has a chest infection and will need antibiotics. Rats suffer from a condition called murine pneumonia which is fatal if left untreated.
Separate them as it's probably the stress that has made him ill!
Your female will need permanent separate accommodation unless you want to be over run with babies, she can have up to 16 babies every 4 weeks!!!!!!!!!!!My rats that i have were healthy when i got them!?
Well, if they were newly introduced, they are fighting because they do not like each other and they resent.
how old are they?
you should place them in seperate cages for a while
maybe you should ask a vet.
look in the phone book and email a few.
that's what i did for my hamster and it worked!
Umm... I would not buy opposite genders, they are sometimes very mean 2 eachother. Return one of them.
