Do rats live in trees in Texas?

I think these are rats but need to be sure. If they are, how do I get rid of them?Do rats live in trees in Texas?
Rats actually live in trees. A sure tell tale sign that they do is that there will be scratch marks down the side of the tree you believe they live in. They probably are rats though if you thought you saw one.Do rats live in trees in Texas?
You must be referring to squirrels. Yes, we have them by the millions in Texas and they are rodents. During the winter they will find ways to get into the attic of your house and make a ruckus all night long. Right now they are very busy gathering nuts to hide for later. They eventually go into ';winter sleep'; (not true hibernation), and you won't see them again till spring. Don't know how to get rid of them because they are everywhere.
They might be squirrels or chipmunks because generally rat's are ground dwelling
