Red Stuff coming from my rats nose?

Lately, my Rat has had red colored stuff around her eyes and nose. Its not in her nose and eyes, just around it. I kind of want to get rid of it but i really don't want to hurt her. What is it and what should i do to get rid of it? Is it normal? Thanks!Red Stuff coming from my rats nose?
The ';red stuff'; as others have stated, is a normal rat secretion called porphyrin. Its normal in small amounts, but when there is a lot or it shows up often, it can mean your rat is stressed or ill NOT happy like David said.

I suggest getting her a friend if she is alone and if it doesn't go away in a week, a trip to the vet would be in order. If she exhibits any sneezing, wheezing or other odd noises, she needs to go to the vet ASAP as she probably has an upper respiratory infection.

Good luck!Red Stuff coming from my rats nose?
It means that she is very stressed , thus making have red stuff coming from her nose called porphyrin ! She probably needs a girlfriend , rats are very social animals . Don't listen to David , he obviously isn't a rat expert and is very ignorant . You need to take your rat to the vet , meanwhile just wipe it off with warm water and a soft piece of cloth .
This is not blood, it is porphoryn. This is normal. It could mean that your rat is stressed out, or it could be an indicator of illness. If your rat is having any sneezing, coughing, or irregular breathing, take her to the vet. If you want to get rid of it, use a warm wet washcloth or paper towel to wipe her eyes and nose. Good luck!
It's a discharge called porphyrin. You should take her to the vet because she may be stressed. =\

Best of luck!
That ';red stuff'; just means that your rat is happy. You must be a wonderful owner to have your rat in such good condition that it is so over-joyed. This happiness happens to about 1 in 100 rats owned by people.
It is probably blood but please go to your vet to check. If she has a dirty cage then clean that up. Good luck!
